Media training “Djanes?” – part of a long-term comprehensive initiative to create a Roma youth information platform.

On July 23-25, 15 young people gathered in a picturesque place to hone their knowledge and skills in the field of media for three days and work on the creation of the first Roma youth information platform in Ukraine.
Together with experienced trainers and experts we:
– studied the specifics of the interaction of Ukrainian and Roma cultures,
– explore different levels of identities,
– sought the roots of stereotypes and the best ways to combat them,
– mastered practical skills of work in the modern media space and studied current tools;
– created joint media diaries of our training.

We have invited the best experts in the field of youth work and work in the modern media space.

Practice! Practice! And practice again!

Our participants had the opportunity to try their hand at different formats during the creative task. And the most creative and active at the end of the event competed for a valuable prize from our team.

Every day, in their online diaries, they talked about how they were trained, what they saw, learned, and what impressed them the most.

Participants chose different forms and channels for distributing their media diary. Someone posted information stories on Facebook and Instagram, someone recorded and posted video vlogs on Facebook and YouTube, someone recorded videos for his channel on a talk show, and someone made a real video report about our project.
